We have scheduled the parents meeting for February 26th at the Baytown Youth Fairgrounds. We would like for all parents to attend the meeting. We will go over information that all new parents will want to know and also have information for parents that have played at the league before. Some of the topics that we will go over are some of the new rules from Little League, fund raisers for this year, important dates, what to expect this year, league improvements, and other things.
We are aware that some parents have not received a call yet from their managers. Some are still finalizing practice fields and related items, if you do not hear anything by this weekend please contact the coordinator of your division. All teams should be practicing next week.
We are scheduling workdays to get the fields ready for the season. We ask that all parents pitch in and help during these days. There is a lot of work to go around and everyone can help. The work that needs to be done isn’t just shoveling dirt or digging up bases, it is also helping with getting the concession stand ready, cleaning up the areas around the park and other tasks. Unfortunately we don’t seem to get a lot of help and the majority of the workers are board members. I am not sure why that is, maybe it is because we are not informing the parents of the workdays, maybe it is because they don’t know we need the help, maybe it is because they have came in the past and were turned away. Whatever the reason, we would like to change it and get more parents out to help. We will exchange field usage for hours worked as an extra incentive to get the help needed, for every 3 hours of field work you earn 1 hour for your team to use the baseball fields.
Thanks
