President's Thoughts

  • How did you spend your night?

Let me tell you how I spent mine. After picking up the trash left around the bleachers that fans left, I went to check to see if the restrooms were clean. Can anyone guess what I found on the floor in one of the stalls? Someone decided that the toilet was not a good option and went ahead and proceeded to use the floor as an alternative. Just in case you are wondering, I have a lot of other things I would rather do than have to clean that off of the floor. I understand that there are kids that are going to miss the urinal or toilet when urinating but I can't explain why they would decide to drop the rest of their business on the floor. When I first saw it I was hoping it was an April Fools joke but nope, it was real. Please talk with your children and explain the importance of respecting the park and facilities that are provided. As board members we understand that we will have to stay after and pick up trash and help keep the park clean but I hate to ask any of the volunteers to have to clean up that mess that is left on the floor. So instead of getting home 20 minutes earlier, I was the lucky one to clean it up. Again please help us keep the park and restrooms clean.

    Thanks
  • Opening Day!

What a great opening day! I think everything went very well, hopefully you agree. I would like to thank everyone that helped make this day such a success. I enjoyed walking around seeing all of the kids playing baseball and I am looking forward to the rest of the season. Thank you to Outback for sponsoring opening day again this year. Also a quick update on Dylan, he got two hits today and he was able to play one inning in the field, congratulations Dylan! Again, thank you to everyone that helped make this day successful.

  • Parents Meeting and Workdays

We have scheduled the parents meeting for February 26th at the Baytown Youth Fairgrounds. We would like for all parents to attend the meeting. We will go over information that all new parents will want to know and also have information for parents that have played at the league before. Some of the topics that we will go over are some of the new rules from Little League, fund raisers for this year, important dates, what to expect this year, league improvements, and other things.

We are aware that some parents have not received a call yet from their managers. Some are still finalizing practice fields and related items, if you do not hear anything by this weekend please contact the coordinator of your division. All teams should be practicing next week.

We are scheduling workdays to get the fields ready for the season. We ask that all parents pitch in and help during these days. There is a lot of work to go around and everyone can help. The work that needs to be done isn’t just shoveling dirt or digging up bases, it is also helping with getting the concession stand ready, cleaning up the areas around the park and other tasks. Unfortunately we don’t seem to get a lot of help and the majority of the workers are board members. I am not sure why that is, maybe it is because we are not informing the parents of the workdays, maybe it is because they don’t know we need the help, maybe it is because they have came in the past and were turned away. Whatever the reason, we would like to change it and get more parents out to help. We will exchange field usage for hours worked as an extra incentive to get the help needed, for every 3 hours of field work you earn 1 hour for your team to use the baseball fields.

    Thanks

  • Welcome

Welcome everyone, I hope you are all gearing up for another great season at North League this year. We are very excited and glad to have you here.

You may not know it but our board has been very busy in the past few months, we completed registrations and tryouts, and now we are about to complete the draft. Next up, Opening Day!!!

This website was built to try and keep everyone updated on what’s happening and also make it easier for everyone to be able to participate. We are going to do our best to keep it up to date with all needed information. Please use this site as a tool for you to stay updated, keep track of standings, ask questions, or just tell your team good job.

I would like to thank all of the parents that attended the special meeting regarding division structure this past Monday. Your attendance and opinions are appreciated very much. Most of our board meetings are opened to all members of the league, so we invite you to be in attendance and see what goes on behind the scenes.

    Thank you,

    Carlos Rocha

  • Site Slowness Issues

I am aware of the slowness on the site. The problem is with the provider. I am working to get this fixed and should have a resolution in the next week or so. If you experience slowness usually waiting about 20 seconds is all it takes to work itself  out.
